Training (30 minutes)
Learn about sanctioned competitions
Set up tables with mats and timers on one side. This is where stackers compete.
Place chairs on the other side of the table. These are for the judges.
Print enough individual judging sheets for everyone.
In a sanctioned competition, stackers complete 2 warm ups and 3 attempts of the 3-3-3,
then do the same for the 3-6-3 and then do the same for the Cycle.
Their judge lets them know if each attempt is “clean” (doesn’t break any rules of sport
stacking) and then writes down their time.
Stackers start at the practice table, then advance to the on deck table and then
complete.
Some will need to start as judges and then once they have judged and the player they
judged becomes a judge, then they’ll go to the practice tables.
The club leader circulates around the judges side of the table to watch the stackers. This
allows the club leader to assess everyone’s skills and knowledge.
When a player has completed both their competition practice and judging, they can play
New York Minute with other players who are also finished.
Club Meeting (15 minutes)
Explain that next week the club will prepare for another competition format called
Stacking League.
Tell them their teams for the Stacking League matches.
Have these teams decide before they leave who will be doubles partners on the team.
They may need additional practice to determine these pairs. They can also change later
on of they decide that is best for their team.
