Continuous Stacking 3-3-3
Players set up for a 3-3-3 and start their timer.
Continuously upstack and downstack 3-3-3 stacks for 2 minutes, focusing on good technique, not speed.
Training (55 minutes)
3-6-3 (15 minutes)
Teach beginners the 3-2-1 method of upstacking a 6 stack, then introduce the 3-6-3.
Players familiar with it practice the 3-6-3.
Training Tips:
Ensure the stacker's thumb is at the middle of the cup, not near the bottom rim of the bottom cup.
The middle, ring, and pinky fingers should be on the edges of the cups to facilitate upstacking by dropping cups from the bottom of the stack. (Consider adding a video demonstration)
Training Games (30 minutes)
Rock, Paper, Scissors Stack
Players set up their cups in either a 3-3-3 or 3-6-3.
Players play Rock, Paper, Scissors.
The winner completes their stack, while the loser finds another player to challenge.
Continue playing for 10 minutes.
Hound and Rabbit
Arrange a few tables and divide players into groups of 4-6 per table.
Set up the cups in a 3-3-3 or 3-6-3 at the 4 corners of each table.
Players start at opposite corners, upstack and downstack, then rotate to the next position on the right.
Play continues until one player catches up to the other.
The winner stays in the next round, and a new player joins.
If a player wins 3 times in a row, they rotate to a different table.
Fixing Fumbles (10 minutes)
Emphasize that fixing fumbles is a key skill in sport stacking.
Watch a demonstration video with the club members or give a live demonstration covering the video’s content.
