Materials

• Speed Stacks Set for each student
• StackMat for each student
• Table
• Tape Measure and Floor Tape
• Stacking League Score Sheets
• Team Line-Up Card for each team
• Bracket (size depends on the number of teams): 4 Team · 8 Team · 16 Team

Lesson Objectives

• Each team competes in two matches (30 minutes each)

Lesson Plan Outline

1. Equipment managers set up tables with a StackMat and cups at each spot.
2. Equipment Managers tape relay lines.
3. Board Members meet with the teacher to review the Stacking League Scrimmage plan for the day.
4. Captains and Relay Team Coordinators complete the Team Line-Up Card for their team for the match based on the current rankings, best Doubles teams, and best Relay Team order from team practice.
5. Scrimmage opponents are randomly assigned.
6. Teams meet at one of the tables and run through a full Stacking League match.
7. Students who are not competing judge the match and complete the score sheet.
8. When the first match is finished, teams report the win/loss and see the teacher who is completing the bracket.
9. The teacher informs the teams who their second match up is with.
10. Teams complete their second match.
11. Discuss the Positive Pyramid Topic of the Day: This unit is almost over. Share some positive memories about your experiences and what you've learned.
